Mid Year Celebration! The students have read 385 books this year! I am very proud of them. Here are some pictures from their celebration.
Each student received a certificate and a cupcake with the number of books that they read.
Coach B. was our guest reader for the celebration. Here he is reading "The Grinch who Stole Christmas."
The students each made a sign with the number of books they read.
Each student has been challenged to read 40 books this year! This is an effort to encourage all 4th graders to finish as many books as they can and to foster a love for reading. I am doing this challenge too, because even adults can get comfortable reading one type of genre. Parents, here are some tips to help your child rise to the challenge:
· Talk with your child about the books they read
· Have your child read aloud to you or to a sibling
· Take them to the public library
· Encourage your child to start a book club with friends
